We are proud to have such a strong partnership with our families, and our Parent Teacher Association is a major part of that relationship. During the year, our PTA will hold meetings as well as opportunities for families to become involved.

Remember: YOU are the PTA! If you are the parent/guardian of a child at PS88, you are automatically a member of the PTA with voting privileges. Together, we make PS88 a vibrant and thriving community!

Thursdays 6pm-7pm: 9/25, 10/30*, 11/20, 12/18, 1/15, 2/12, 3/19, 4/23, 5/21**, 6/18

* = in person only: SLT Elections and PAC Elections

** = in person only: PTA Executive Board Elections

  • All meetings are in person and on Zoom, unless otherwise noted.
  • Spanish interpretation is provided in person at every meeting. If you need interpretation in another language, please contact our communications team PTA88Comms@gmail or Ms.Ivett.
  • There is a kids’ activity and light snacks for students led by PS88 teachers and aides. (They have fun and we can concentrate and relax!)
  • All meetings are open to the public to observe. Only PS88 parents/guardians may vote and participate in the meeting.

We strive to create an open, welcoming, safe space to communicate with each other as fellow parents and members of this wonderful PS88 community. But there still may be things you don’t feel comfortable bringing up in person. This form is the space to share!

 

Responses on this form are checked regularly and topics/questions will be addressed during PTA meetings and/or with the school administration and SLT (School Leadership Team).

🫱🏽‍🫲🏼WHAT ARE PTA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS?

These monthly general meetings are where you can keep updated on important information, learn about the school, learn about opportunities to get involved, bring up questions and concerns. These meetings are for YOU! They are a gateway to getting involved with and supporting our school community. Our ultimate goal is to foster community, connection, and collaboration.

  • We do our best to leave 15-20 minutes of time for open discussion and questions at the end of the meetings. Some months there is more business to get through though, like elections, but we always do our best to make room for our community discussions!
  • The dates and times of the General Membership Meetings for the year are voted on by YOU in our Annual Parent Survey in the beginning of every school year.
  • We keep these meetings to 1 hour long and they are held in person and on Zoom. There are some circumstances when the meetings cannot be hybrid, and we’ll be sure to make that clear.
  • We have a Kids Activity supervised by our amazing teachers and aides during our meetings, and light snacks are provided for the kids. We hope this helps busy parents come in person and feel more of a part of the community.
  • Spanish interpretation is always provided. If you need interpretation in another language, please contact our communications team ([email protected]) or Ms. Ivett and we will be sure to accommodate you. (We hope to work out a solution for all languages at all times soon!)
  • In addition to the monthly general membership meetings, there are committee meetings and smaller breakout meetings. Start with these general membership meetings to find out more ways to get involved!

 

 

🗓️2025-26 Monthly PTA Executive Board Meetings - General Business

Our Executive Board meetings are open to all members of the PTA to observe. If you would like to speak at the meeting, you must be added to the agenda. 

If you would like to attend a meeting, please email Abbey PTA88Secretary@gmail or Samantha PTA88President@gmail to request to be added to the virtual meeting invite, and if you would like to be added to the agenda.

These meetings are to go over general business for the executive board. In between these monthly general meetings, the board has many smaller, break out meetings to address specific items and initiatives.
